Toyota is planning a clean-air initiative to help reduce the environmental burden the 2020 Games will place on Tokyo. To this end, the company will supply approximately 3,700 mobility products and vehicles for Tokyo 2020. Electric models will comprise nearly 90 percent of this vehicle fleet, making it the greenest fleet that the Games have used to date.
Toyota’s goals for Tokyo 2020
The OEM’s overarching ambition for the Games is to push the boundaries of conventional mobility options. Toyota’s unique vehicles will focus on transporting individuals outside of and within the venues. The company will also offer robots that enable you to virtually witness the events, if you’re not able to attend in person.
Unique products for the Games
The e-Palette, Concept-I, and Mirai are just a few of the distinct models that Toyota has tweaked specifically for Tokyo 2020. It will also provide approximately 300 standing-type personal mobility devices for security and medical staff to use. The brand is also exploring the idea of sitting-type and wheelchair-link devices. These products would help attendees with physical limitations get around the venues more easily and less stressfully.
